This year has been good to me. Considering that it has only the beginning, that's a good thing. I set a lot of yarn goals for myself for 2011. My YOS (year of socks), is still on and I have been sticking to my monthly schedule. The monogamy, not great, but not bad as I no longer have 12 WIPS on the needles. :)
I still have in mind some things I would like to accomplish.
I would like to complete at least 1 sweater this year. I indeed have my eye on a few.
- Any of Veera's designs are high on my list.
- As well as Thea's, I am really drawn to Irish Coffee.
- Fabulous Hannah's Spring Cardigan is calling to me. Especially after seeing Andrea's test knit.
- Sylvi, will always be a dream knit for me.
More blankets for my home is definitely a want for this year. Just the thought of being able to pull out a hand-knit blanket and wrap myself in it, when the temps cool, sounds perfect.
Lace is another area that I would like to dabble in. I have knit most of my lace-ish patterns with sock yarn. I have yet to knit with actual lace weight yarn. I actually have some in my stash and think this would be a great pattern for it.
Some big aspirations I have for myself, you think? Now if only I could knit faster!
Happy Weekend Everyone!
XO
ANDI

1. I love Veera's designs. If only they weren't all out of such light yarn. A full-sized sweater in fingering weight scares me. But I think I might have to knit Hooray (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hooray-cardigan) Sooo pretty!
2. Totally with you on the Spring Cardigan!
3. Hehe, Ishbel seems to be on EVERYONE's list.
4. I love the colours of your blanket!

I also wish I could knit faster, especially in the sweater/cardi area! For this category, I will always only have one WIP otherwise, it will never end!!!

I hadn't come across Veera's designs, I must say that the Celery Cardigan caught my eye straight away.
I agree about the hand knit blankets...there's is nothing cosier than a hand made blanket :)

You've inspired me with your knitting plans. I used to knit sweaters, but I haven't knit myself one in years. It would be fun, but I think I'm more likely to copy your sock yarn blanket.
Your picture of The Kitchen God's Wife made me smile. I can tell you exactly when I read it...the week before my nineteen year old daughter was born. I was home on maternity leave and was reading it. I was literally balling while reading it, and the UPS man knocked at the door. I remember being so embarrassed answering the door, very pregnant, uncombed hair red eyes, and a runny nose! Poor guy must have thought I was a pitiful mess. I did loved that book!
