I don't know what it is , but as I get older I appreciate the holidays and spending time with the family more and more. I hope you all got to spend some time with the people you cherish this season.
All my Christmas knitting was completed in time. Can I get a "Whoot whoot"?
My dear friend Melly's scarf is off the needles. There are others but I did not get a chance to snap a pic before gifting them. Oh well.
However, I did take a picture of some of the goodies I received from my mom and sister. Wanna see?
A couple additional goodies from my bestie Ruth.
Ruth had these project bags she made on her blog. I drooled over them...then what do you know? She sent me 4 of them. Each one more incredible than the next. All four have WIPS in them. As you can see above..they fit perfectly. She amazes me everyday with her generosity, talent and spirit. XO Ruth!
I received so many wonderful things, but the best present is always time with my family. On Christmas we all gather and do Christmas breakfast. I love this tradition. We all make one dish, I always make this. Mom makes a couple things, but my favorite is her biscuits and gravy, (I may or may not have brought home a gallon size container worth of leftovers). Heh!
I also have enough cookies to keep me on a extreme sugar rush till next Christmas. Let me tell you, these aren't even 1/2 of what I have. I think I'm in trouble! ;)
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and now have some down time to do rest.
Why is it when you are busy knitting for others, you see a million things you want to knit for yourself? While I am happily knitting away on Christmas gifts, my Ravelry queue seems to be getting larger. I have brushed aside my "wants" for now and am continuing on with gift knitting.
The mother had asked if I could knit her some small stockings that she could use to hold silverware for her Christmas table. Gladly! They are done and in her hot little hands.
The sister's Christmas balls are almost all done. Two down...maybe one more to go.
Nearly there, I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have a couple more things to finish up, one being this scarf for my friend Melly and one surprise thing for the sister. Luckily I do not believe I will be knitting up to Christmas Eve.
Although I tend to over-commit myself on knitting Christmas items, I still love it. Whether it be Christmas music, the cooler weather or Flickr, my inspirations are endless. Here are some lovelies I found on Flickr.
I am in full swing with Christmas knitting. Luckily the list isn't too long.
The above scarf is a last minute request from a friend. I received an email asking if I could knit her this scarf in either charcoal grey or plum. I just happened to have some pretty charcoal grey in the stash. Normally I don't just whip out a scarf for just anybody, but my friend Melly is one of the most generous and dearest friends. The reply to those type of emails from her will always be responded with a big ole' "Yes!"
The sister has requested some Fair Isle Christmas Balls. One is completed and the second is well on it's way. I think I will make her a set of 4.
Christmas is fun isn't it? I am all about the giving, but sometimes the receiving is just as fun. Check out the early Christmas package from my bestie. Feel free to hate on me, because it was one fabulous package!
The chocolates are almost gone. The coffee has been brewed-yum! Love the cooking magazine. Her hand-spun, insanely wonderful. If you think it looks good- it feels even better. Lastly that fantastic project bag under the hand-spun. She made it with my Denver Broncos in mind, the inside is Orange! I know it is a whole pile of lovely...whooo hooo!
Took a nice cruise around blogland today.
If anyone wants to knit this shawl for me, I would not say no.
I have been seeing the Rocky Coast Cardigan knit up all over the place, but this one is just beautiful!
I haven't decided which I am more in love with, the mittens or the socks. Heck I love the lot.
Images of her winter wonderland and pups make me smile.
I am off to continue working on the holiday projects. I will be taking full advantage of the rare cool weather today in Arizona. Can you say 58 degrees with a chance of rain? I Made some red chili stew, (so hot it would kill a small child or my sister) and some fresh tortillas in honor of this wonderful weather.
Hope you are finding some time for yarn today!
XO,
Andi
