I cannot believe we are here already, within months of the big holidays! Can you? Let me tell you, I am ready. Ready for the crisp cool air to return, handknit socks freed from their drawer , and soups. There is an obvious decline in knitting in the summer months throughout blogland. It will be nice to see all the big beautiful knits return. Personally I am beginning to crave knitting on some of my long hybernating blankets.
First I need to finish up some Halloweenie socks. These are knit in a plain vanilla pattern, using the no longer in business Three Ewes Twisted in Fiber. Don't get me started on how sad I am about the fact that I won't be able to buy any more of their beautiful yarn. You know how I feel about packaging, there was nothing like getting a pretty little cake of their yarn.
On to the other knitting project. The Quill. There were hopes of this shawl to be completed for this KAL, by the end of September. Failed! That is o.k. because it was so close and I am still working on it. What also makes it better is reading this post from Alicia about her Quill.
I will go with her estimated hours of work that went into this....three thousand.
There we go, works in progress. How about you, are you finishing up things or starting new fun fall/winter knits? I will be continuing to finish my Quill..I know I keep repeating that but in a way I am trying to instill in my brain that this will be completed soon!
Today there will be knitting, but first I am meeting my bestie for her birthday brunch. Wishing you all a wonderful chilly day and plenty of time with your knitting.
