Twas the day before Christmas and I thought I would pop in to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. I am still amazed at how unprepared I was for the celebrations this year, but hopefully next year I will start early.
Tomorrow I will be celebrating with my family, which is a gift in itself. I hope the same goes for all of you. Today I will be relaxing, catching up on some blogs, and watching some documentaries.
I will be back after the new year! Sending you all thoughts of love, peace and good health.
Not sure why, I just can't seem to get into the holiday this year. I know every year, it feels like the Holidays are here before we know it, but this one really feels like it came out of nowhere. Working on ornaments and Christmas knits this weekend has helped somewhat. Unfortunately it leads to not a lot to show you guys.
Here are squares that I can show you. I am continuing to work on squares for Sam's project.
That is it..for projects I can show you. Yawn! Sorry there has to be some element of surpise for the gifties on Christmas. :) How about instead I share with you some yarn that I am smitten with?
I mentioned this yarn last week after completing a shawl with it. Beaverslide Dry Goods is family owned and ran company in Montana. I discover and fell in love with them after seeing Lori knit up this beautiful PI shawl. Not long after she followed it with this lovely Dancing Reindeer Shawl.
It is hard to describe why I love this yarn so much. There is something "natural" about knitting with this beautiful rustic yarn. After knitting up this shawl with it, I am forcing myself to continue on with Christmas knitting and not cast on something else with my Beaverslide.
With my Sunday just beginning, I have plenty of light hours to get projects done. Maybe I will put on some Christmas music to help things a long. So is it just me or are you late to the Christmas spirit this year? Working on Christmas knitting gifts or ornaments?
Enjoy this holiday video and have a wonderful day!
Happy Sunday! I have offically been over the cruds a week and lovin' it. Thank you for all the get well wishes, they are very much appreciated. Nothing makes you appreciate your health, more than when you are battling ailments, am I right? In the spirit of feeling great, how about I share some recent FOs, WIPs and loves?
An FO! This was the secret knitting I was working on. It has been mailed and is on it's way to a dear friend.
So, yeah for an FO. I have quite a bit on the needles right now. All seem to be getting a fair amount of love.
A sock...always a sock on the needles. This is a test knit for the wonderful Robin. I am loving this pattern. The yarn is Sweet Georgia ( this poor skein has been frogged from many a sock patterns, guess it finally found it's match)!
The above is a shawl pattern that was gifted to my from my bestie Ruth. Many in the knitting community are aware of the passing of this dear lady. In her honor there is a KAL going on. While I do not claim to have known her personally, I did enjoy her podcast and feel that with each stitch I will be reminded to let everyone in my life know how loved they are.
Now that you are up to date with my knitting, how about we check out some loves?
The uber talented Audry, has really designed a beauty!
My sister is constantly requesting fingerless mitts, these by Kepanie may just fit the bill.
Everything Kate knits is beautiul, not suprisingly her sweater is no different.
