One of the things I planned for my knitting goals this year was to enjoy the process more. I feel like last year I kind of bulldozed through projects in order to meet certain goals I had set for myself. This year, I plan on taking my time and really enjoying it.
As a beginning project this year, I joined a KAL with Lori and many other new friends. She gifted me the pattern for Jared's Leaves of Grass, (you know I can't turn down any of Jared's patterns).
I went deep stash diving and found I had plenty of KnitPicks Palette that would work.
My Leaves of Grass with many different colors, which will be exciting.
I am not setting a deadline, nor am I adding any additional pressure to finish. As stated before, I am just going to be knitting-a-long with some friends and enjoying it.
Hope all of you are enjoying the new year so far!
See you this weekend!
XO
Andi

we are so glad you joined us for this one, Andi!

Relearning to enjoy knitting is a perfect goal. I might have to steal that goal for next year. Still have a few deadlines this year.
Your Leaves of Grass is going to be glorious. Those colors look wonderful.

I'm not a shawl knitter but I've never heard of a shawl starting like that - this will be interesting to watch take shape. Your color palette is beautiful too. I hope you are able to enjoy the journey - I know what you mean about bulldozing. While it can be exhilarating, it takes its toll.

The color combination is beautiful Andi!
I too planned to take my time and enjoy my knitting more "calmly" :)
Happy New Knitting Year!

When Lori first made this shawl, I loved it. I even have the same LB yarn here for one. I think it is time to caston. I am eager to see how yours develops.

Happy New Year! Enjoy your knitting without a deadline! I felt instantly relieved once I finished my Christmas knitting. Your shawl is going to be beautiful. The colors you chose look so good together (you must have a great stash!).

I just don't see you as the "knit without enjoying it" kind of person. But I'm sure it couldn't hurt to be more focused on the process, I use knitting as a way of practicing mindfulness. The shawl is going to be very pretty, it looks like just the thing to cuddle up in on a cool night.

Very pretty indeed, such deep rich colors. That should be one of my goals too really, as I have such a bad habit of just wanting to finish the project. I just finished a vest in 2 weeks and I don't really think I took the time to savor it.

ooooh I love those colors a lot!

What lovely Christmas gifts. And the pink for that wrap is a delightful choice. Knitting with your favorite hues is always a smart decision.
