Christmas stuff is put away. The home is clean. The home is quiet. That is indeed what I am talking about. There is no better way to start the new year. Taking full advantage of a three day weekend, I am working on the nephew's blanket which is really therapeutic with a good cup of Joe and a movie on the laptop. So what movie I am watching? Before I tell you let me just say this- I may not have mentioned that I love the Brits. (haha) Well, what you may not know is my complete and undying love of one Brit in particular. He is not young, muscular or husband material by any means. It doesn't matter to me, he makes me laugh and I so want to "snog" him! (I finally got to use that word)
I don't care what you say, I love him. So it only seemed fitting that on my lazy day that I should watch a Hugh movie.
Cute movie, nothing outstanding other than Hugh. Overall simple entertainment while I hook away and imagine that I am knitting him a scarf. One cool thing about this movie is seeing Mary Steenburgen knitting in bed with DPNs and Sarah Jessica Parker knitting on the couch.
I know that Sarah Jessica Parker knits in real life. I wonder what she is working on. I also wonder if she has a stash, don't you? Can you imagine what your stash would be like if you made her kind of moolah?
Ah, the questions I would ask her. In the meantime, I think I will make it a Hugh Grant movie day. My all time favorite being, About a Boy. Hopefully the holiday crafting pressure is off and you are just enjoying your yarn today like me.
Cheers!
XO

Now you know how mad I am for Mr Jackman don't you?! Well, when I was a teenager I watched Bitter Moon which is a film by Roman Polanski that starred Hugh Grant - let me tell you it opened my eyes to the world and to Hugh! Unfortunately, my love for Mr Grant ended as quickly as it started as I only really ever liked him in that film. My heart belongs forever to Mr Jackman (oh, and I guess my husband too but don't tell him that lol!!)

I just googled it to see when it was made and it was 1992 so I was a mere 17 year old when I watched it - now I am almost 20 years older but maybe not really any more the wiser!!

You had the perfect day! It's also nice to see that I am not the only anglophile around these woods.
Your movie choices (and leading man choices) are spot on. Well done you for picking the perfect Sunday. Perhaps you can find time to squeeze in a quick showing of Notting Hill - another Grant classic and a cute nod to your fiber artistry... lol.

He does have that lovable quality. Although, there is that one blip on his record that I try to forget every happened. I like him too. And thanks for reminding me I want to see that movie! Think we will watch it tonight!!! A perfect day sounds to me like!

What a lovely sounding day! About a boy is an all time top ten movie around here. One Christmas my family (there are six of us) got it for each other....5 copies of About a Boy floating around on Xmas day (before kids). I know Julia Roberts knits and I have often wondered what kind of craft room she has :)

I loved Hugh Grant in 'About a Boy' since it seemed like we finally got to see his own devious side. But Colin Firth is my Brit crush... :o)

I never knew that SJP knit!! She's kind of my hero, (hair wise, especially) so that's a fun new fact.
Thanks for your kind words on my blog - can't wait to see your Nantucket Red in 2011

I love that photo of her knitting. And, oh. my. god., imagine the stash she must have! Never ever thinking if a yarn is too expensive... That sounds like a dream come true! (Gosh, I'm such a knitting geek!)
