There are times I am a follower. I chose to think of it as inspired. Weekly I visit We heart yarn, because she inspires me to knit socks. How could you not after seeing those beautiful photos? So when she posted about some new stitichmarkers she got from Etsy, I fell in love with them. Now I can say I am the proud owner of these lovely stitch-markers from Velvet Hippo.
It has been said by many that Torii, the shop owner is amazingly nice. I quite agree. Within minutes of receiving them I had to add them to my latest project.
This only goes to show how influential "word of mouth" really is in the knitting community. These are perfectly snag-free, you should give them a go.
Finished July socks are on the menu today too. I was debating what socks to knit my swap partner and deciding these lovelies will be hers. So they will be going off in the mail next week, along with some other goodies.
Is it me or are there others that are out there, that get nervous when mailing out swap items, wondering if they will like them? Since I seem to be casting on all over the place, I added a sock to the needles (not the mystery sock), but a carry around in the purse kind of project. As you can see, I love cute stitch markers.
I am off to enjoy a wonderful weekend. I will leave you to enjoy some other lovely Etsy items I have my eyes on. Happy yarning!
- If it is fun and food related, I'm there.
- Mental vegetables, I would buy just because of the name!
- Kind of really loving this tote.
- Been contemplating a yarn bowl.
- Just want one of these, don't know why, but I do.
XO
Andi
I completely understand what you mean about being nervous when sending out items like that. I sent out a "pay it forward" in homemade crafting to someone (I made her a sweater and her daughter a hat) but I am so nervous that she won't like it. It came out wonderful and fits her given proportions but I'm still nervous about it all.
I can tell you this, those socks are gorgeous and I am absolutely certain that your swap buddy will love them... I know I would.

Gorgeous knitting as usual! Love the stitch markers too. I realized yesterday the benefit of a simple carry around project when I found myself on the bus for two hours without anything to do.

Yes, I too am 'inspired' by WE HEART YARN (OK....read ----> obsessed to the point of being stalker-ish to make socks just like hers) or yours. Grrrr.
Yours are beautiful & lovely and I will admire them from afar.

Yes, stitch markers worthy of your beautiful knitting!
Your swap partner is very, very fortunate. I'm sure your socks will be greatly appreciated. I admire all the knitters out there who participate in swaps; it takes a bit of courage, don't you think?
BTW, I adore the yarn that you have on your needles right now. Look forward to seeing the finished project. :-)

All of your socks are beautiful, but the purple and pink shaded ones are my favs! I've been trying to be on a "yarn" and "yarn related items" diet, but I'm feeling that I need some of those stitch markers.
