One of my New Year's goal was to read more books. That makes it also a great opportunity to join Ginny's Yarn Along.
I have had this book on my "To Read" list for a while. I can't think of a better book to kick of my year of reading. I will let you know how it is.
Along with the book is a new project on the needles. I have had a case of serious shawl envy lately. To solve that, I cast on Mountain Ash by Kate Gagnon Osborn. The pattern calls for DK weight yarn, but I cast on with Madeline Tosh Light in Well Water. Normally blue is not one of my favorite colors, but I am quite smitten with this color!
Want to see why I have a case of shawl envy? Be warned, these may cause you to cast on a shawl as well!
- Robin has two insanely beautiful shawls recently completed, this pink one and this red one. Guess which one is my fav?
- Maryse's progress-this is going to be amazing!
- What would a shawl post be without including Monika and her beautiful knit?
How about you? Any shawl envy?
XO
Andi
Beautiful color, it will look really nice in that shawl. I totally understand shawl envy, that's all I seem to want to knit lately. Thanks for sharing...

I just took a peek at the Mountain Ash ... can't pass that one up! Love the blue you chose for yours (and thanks for the linky-dinks!)

Beautiful MT yarn color. I don't know what it is about her yarns - I love practically all colors in every line. Now if only I had some spare change...

I think any color by Madelintosh can become a favorite. There is so much depth in each color.

Just so you know, it's YOUR WIP that has given me shawl envy. Not only do I love MadTosh but that color is scrumptious. xo

Ah, I love Madelintosh. If I could knit with nothing but Madelintosh for the rest of my life I would be in heaven. Currently I cannot really afford it, so I'll have shawl/yarn envy : )

I'm so late in my blog reading! I was waiting for a club package and did not dare read a single blog for one week just in case someone would unexpectedly post about it. Well, this is a long story... I just want to mention that I clicked your link in my blogroll to see quickly what's going on around here and I saw you are knitting in BLUE!!! Way to go! ;-))) And you made me flush again by linking to my shawl! I look forward to see more of yours! It looks lovely already!

Shawls are the things I ogle at and drool over, but never had the courage to cast on one for myself. All that lace intimidates me.

I'm not usually a blue person either, but this is a lovely shade. I love the look of shawls and have made a few, but I never end up wearing them. :(

Oooh so pretty. I've been snapping up Madeline Tosh Light with the intent of making a shawl. A local knitter friend recent;y finished one in that yarn - goodness it was stunning (and soft).

I just participated in my first ever secret swap and my partner made me my first ever shawl... and I love it! It is the most perfect colorway for me and it has me itching to try my hand at it... so naturally, I've cast one on for Hobbit to give it a go.
