It is Saturday peeps !
I have so much that I need to get accomplished this weekend, so much I don't know where to start. So in typical Andi weekend style I will start with some blog reading, breakfast, and a few stitches ( because I like to multi-task).
On the subject of breakfast, the above pictured porridge has been my everyday morning grub for a couple weeks. I make this recipe on Sunday night and it is enough for me to have a bowl everyday. I add a lot of different toppings depending on what I have on hand. This morning I had some bananas, apples and walnuts. During the week I had some wonderfully sweet blackberries-yum! A bowl keeps me going well into lunch and helps me not to snack in between meals.
These socks are being finished, I am on the last toe! This means my pair will be done by the deadline-take note Jody (inside joke).Even with the end of the month fast approaching I decided to cast on another pair of socks with the beautiful gifted yarn from my friend Maryse.
The pattern is Hedgerow, while it is not an exciting knit, I think it shows off this lovely yarn perfectly.
Okay, now I really need to get my butt in gear and get some chore done. I will leave you with a video that Kiwiyarns Knits shared on her blog. It makes me laugh out loud.
Have a great weekend everyone!
XO
Andi

The video really made me laugh! Your little socks are so cute! Your new stitch markers are so pretty! Seems like 2012 will also be a good year for socks!

I have porridge for breakfast too, although not usually with all the yummy toppings. I might have to branch out! That sock yarn is gorgeous!! I'm a total sucker for that colourway, and you've picked out such a pretty pattern to go with it.

Absolutely LOVE that video! Thank you for sharing! Your breakfast looks so yummy!
I tried the Hedgerow socks, but let it down after a few repeats....It was, as you said, not exciting! :D

I love the bit about hiding the yarn from the husband. I hear that All The Time at the LYS.

Porridge with nuts and fruits is pretty much the ultimate breakfast food as far as I'm concerned. Your variations sound particularly yummy! I really like the yarn you chose for that project, you have the best taste in yarns : )

My partner rolled her eyes at the video, especially her taking photos of herself in hats etc hahaha love it.
Your hedgerow socks look quite lovely, I will have to go and gunt down the pattern!
Have a lovely rest of your weekend XXX

Looks like a great recipe--oatmeal is a great one to cook ahead and use throughout the week. Great topping ideas, too!

Haha I was reading about your Dublin Bay and smiled before I even got to my name. I'm glad you'll be done :)
BTW I've been meaning to try steel cut oats but your post has just put me over the edge. If I hit the supermarket later today I'm going to pick some up and try portioning them out for the weekend. I'm getting a bit tired of my shredded wheat - and when I start to get tired is when I go for something I really shouldn't be eating.
oh, and that video? AWESOME!!!

That recipe sounds easy and yummy, I will have to try it very soon. Those socks also looks gorgeous, that yarn is so pretty; I bet you will have them done in no time :)

It's official...I no longer feel the need to knit socks, I am just going to drool over yours :).

I've been on the porrige thing too! I never thought I'd enjoy it so much. I might have to try those toppings.
I love the colour of that yarn. My favourite kinds of red :)

I have never tried steel cut oats. I have thought about it though...I do make quick oats sometimes. Dried fuits and nuts is a must on top and also some brown sugar. Your video was so funny.
