Yep, that would be me and my knitting this week.
I am knitting on these socks, other socks, a cardigan, a blanket...the list goes on.
While I enjoy knitting, somedays I feel like a hamster on a wheel. Not sure what I am in the mood to knit, so I knit a bit on everything. One row here and there, obviously does not add up to a lot coming off the needles. Often I have to remind myself that it is ok and to enjoy the process.
Thankfully, I finished my Sushi striped socks this morning. May be just the thing I need to motivate me to finish up some other things? Then again...
Remember this project? This has been on the needles since March 2011. Yes, you read that right. It was brought out of hibernation this weekend and so far all I have done is stare at it.
Do you ever go through these knitting lulls? Short post this week as my brain, much like my knitting, is all over the place. I will be back next Sunday to share some fantastic loves from Blogland. Enjoy your weekend!
XO
Andi
wow, those cable-y socks are gorgeous!
knitting lulls? yes, indeed. i keep thinking it'd be great to cast on, but then some other stitchery pulls me away. i kinda miss knitting.

All the socks you've been knitting...luv, luv, luv. I like your idea of your own personal stash sock club. :) As for your crosses blanket, I have you beat. I started a Rambling Rows blanket back in 2008 and keep it out so I can stare at it (and hopefully work on it). It was going to be my winter-must-finish-this-project, but nope, didn't happen.

yay for the sushi socks!
i don't think you're in a knitting lull. i think you just can't find *the* project to keep your attention. sometimes that happens.
if you can't find one that's doing it for you, i think you need to take a gander at your stash and CO for something that makes your heart sing. these other projects will patiently wait for you :)

I just love the first pair of socks you are working on! I have so many projects I want to do, but they aren't started. I only have one on my needles. That is about all I can handle at a time. But I do usually have yarn on my wheel to spin... oh what to do first?

Yummy socks! Was just lying on my Mitred Crosses Blanket today. I made mine bigger and turned it into a picnic blanket by knitting it in machine washable (and cheaper) yarn. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Stitched-Together/mitered-crosses-blanket--for-japan if you are interested.

Love the colors in the sushi socks. They are quite appropiately named. While I've seen sushi at the grocery store I've never eaten given it a try. I like all meat to be cooked throughy and served hot. I know I'm in the minority with all the sushi fans out there. Oh we'll. Have a great weekend!

Cadence is one of my favorite sock patterns. Love the color you've chosen for them.
Ah yes, I know spring has arrived when there are projects started everywhere.

I have definitely hit a knitting lull, although it is an unconventional sort. I have been diligent with my deadline knitting for so long that I've forgotten how to choose fun knitting.
And you shouldn't feel too bad about the blanket. I have an unfinished blanket project that was started around the same time as yours that has been staring at me for awhile. We can be "unfinished blanket twins."

You are not alone. I poke along on projects for years too. Currently I have a lace shawl I'm working on at the rate of a couple rows per week, if that. I anticipate finishing sometime in 2014.
Your sushi socks are wonderful!!!

I was thinking how much I love the pattern of your first socks, only to check them out on Ravelry and find I've already favourited the pattern! The colour of the yarn suits the pattern so well too :)

The first pair you showed us is really pretty, I can't wait to see those done. And the sushi socks are cool too ;)

Those cadence socks look great !
Hm, when I don't really feel like having 'the' project to knit on, I tend to go for the least favorite; at least that gives me the satisfaction afterwards of knowing it has a little progress....

I certainly hit knitting lulls. Usually it's because I'm frustrated by mistakes in my WIPs, which leads to casting-on, which really doesn't solve the problem!

I go through lulls but mostly it deals with crafting type. I haven't knit anything in several months because I'm cheating on my knitting needles with my crochet hook. I'm sure I'll come back around to knitting again but right now, nothing is making me jump up and down at making it.

I try to have a long term and a short term project in the bag, if not four projects. That takes care of any lulls for me :) Love the finished socks and the mitered squares look interesting!

Gorgeous projects Andi. You really do know how to pick them.
As for the lulls, I allow myself to be okay with them now. Previously, I'd try to stay monogamous to one project so I could see a finished object (especially since I'm a slow knitter).
Now ... I just go with the flow. If I want to work on three or four (like I'm doing now), not exactly sure when or how they'll be finished, I just roll with it. Same if I want to cross-stitch instead of playing with yarny projects ... I just roll with it.
I know the lull (like everything else) wouldn't last for ever. Without a doubt, I know you'll know when to start cranking F.Os out instead of being "all over the place".

You are a master in knitting, that is for sure!!! Beautiful Andi!!

Of course! I've had projects sitting around for ages, like the Coccoon one and now my niece's ripple.
THose sushi socks are so cool! I think of ebi nigiri, salmon roe, and nori! I love the peachy colorway of the top socks.

Oh absolutely. I liken it to writers (or photographers, something I am also prone to) block. Sometimes I just have to stop knitting altogether for a few days or a week and then my mojo comes back in a rush.
That said, even a row or two here and there on various projects adds up to progress. Nothing wrong with just staring at your knitting either (goodness knows I've done that too), though I'll hope you get some knitting mojo rushing through your veins to finish it up too :)

Gorgeous knits. I love the peach socks and the blanket squares!

I love seeing what you're knitting, and these socks are no exception. I've just finished my first shawl which I'm thrilled with and, despite the fact I'm working on something else, I'm still searching for the next project. Exciting times!
I hope you have a good week and that brain is in an easier place by the end of it.

I've just found your pretty blog, it's so delightful.
Love those sushi socks and the pink ones are gorgeous already. I've never knitted socks before (never felt the "need" of it), but I might get the inspiration from yours if I change my mind in the future.
Good luck with the blanket!

The sushi striped socks are so pretty! I think it's fun to knit from one project to another!

Those sushi socks are filling me with envy. I want them for myself, and I have several friends who would also appreciate them. It's okay to get knitting ennui! I have felt really bogged down by things I need to finish, and I'm just slogging through until I get some of them done :P You can do it!

I like your approach to restless better than mine ... I tend to just do something else altogether! I'm finding so little knitting time just now and it's really beginning to bug me.
Love the colour of those socks :)
