Happy Sunday! Yes, you read the title correct, I have a finished object. Feels like it has been forever since I completed something. Then again, that could just be in my head. :)
Yay, for another Cameo. I enjoyed knitting the first one so much, I had to knit another.
Stats:
- Pattern- Cameo by Paula Popiolek
- Yarn- Skein Top Drawer sock in the colorways Wild Apple and Madelinetosh Merino Light in the colorway Antler.
- Needle: 6 -4.0 mm
As I mentioned, loved the first Cameo, but knitting this time with the Skein and MTL combo was heavenly. I almost didn't want to stop. After completing this gem, my brain automatically jumped to the thought of what to cast on next. Yes, I know I already have many other things on the needles to finish. That didn't stop me from visiting the stash and dreaming.
Twist & Twine Sarafina sock
Maybe I did a little more than dream. Maybe I took the yarn out and snuggled it a bit first.
On to other happenings. Due to our monsoon season, cooking food hasn't been a big priority or desire. Salads, turkey slices, cheese, and fruit have been on my weekly menu. Oh, and always frozen burritos which are an odd addiction of mine, as my friend Jody knows.
I have been eating blueberries by the bucketloads. Hoping I don't end up with the same fate as Violet.
Heh!
There you have it, my week in review. Summer seems never ending, yet at the same time going fast. Make sense? How is your summer going? Anything new or exciting on your needles?
XO
Andi
I was just singing the Oompa Loompa song at work this week to a coworker who had commented that she 'wanted it all' :)
that sock yarn is luscious!!

Your Cameo is so beautiful! You certainly know how to combine colors together perfectly for a pattern!
Have fun knitting your new socks!
My summer hasn't really started yet because my vacations will start in one week. Can't wait to have two weeks to relax and knit!

It's so pretty :) and I know exactly what you mean about the never ending, flying too fast summer, I don't know if I'm ready for it to end though

That is lovely. One day when I have the right yarns I will make one of those.
That yarn is very pretty indeed. I wonder what it will become.

yay for Cameo! did I read it right that you *didn't* cast on with the sarafina? how'd you do that? and possibly more importantly - why?!?
and yay for frozen burritos :)

Andi, it's perfect. Rarely do I see a garment I want to copy stitch for stitch (hoping the knitter will consider that flattery), but this is one. You have such wonderful yarn available over there though, I'd struggle to get both of those yarns here.
Oh I can't wait to be knitting again!

EEk, violet ate candy! You're eating fruit so I think your safe. Love that movie. The shawl is beautiful and I know what you feel when you don't want to put something down. That is knitting paradise!

I went to Stitches Midwest yesterday, and bought two skeins of Madelinetosh Merino Light to make this shawl. It was really hard to decide on colors, but I chose a soft aqua called "Well Water", and a pastel variegated called "Grenadine." It has aqua in it, as well as pinks, baby blues, and soft taupes and beiges. I am anxious to get started on it. Yours are lovely.

Love the cameo! the colors.. ahh :) (and oo at blueberries! mine aren't ripe yet, I have a little bush in a pot on my balcony and I can't wait to pluck them!). Also, this summer.. I hate myself for saying this, but I'm actually looking forward to the next season...

Oh gosh, oh gosh. That is just lovely. Great job on the pic too. It is very difficult to depict a shawl and you have done this in such a restrained, elegant way in a single pic. Oh gosh, oh gosh. No wonder you made two! Yay for finishing! No summer here, just good old wintery get-it-done weather.

Malabrigo socks, that's my next project :) I am not a blueberry fan, but I think it's awesome you are eating them so much, they are so good for you. And that shawl is lovely! I bet it really was a dream to knit!

Yes I know exactly what you mean about summer being never ending and flying by!!! I need a new season as I am almost all zucchini and corned out!! And if i eat any more ice cream to keep cool I am going to be just like like Violet except in color...instead of blue , the color of vanilla soft serve!(maybe with some hot fudge too!)Nothing new on the needles cause i am trying to stay true to my resolve of finishing stuff but GEEZ!!!do i have the itch!!!

I've been away 'on holiday' this week- as in away from home, staying at a hotel but I still packed 3 knitting and one other craft project! Managed to finish and photograph a new design (my husband didn't bat an eyelid when I was soaking it in the sink and blocking it on a chair, that's how well he knows me!), get to the second sleeve of a sweater I'm making for my girl, make one of a set of felt hand puppets I'm working on and...progressed all of about one inch on the second of a pair of socks that I've been 'working on' since February. My second sock syndrome is chronic, what can I say?! I also ate waaaaay to much yummy food and tried horse riding, so I didn't knit ALL the time :-)
