Oh yes, I have a finished shawl. What a lovely knit the Swallowtail was.
I am the type of knitter that once I find a pattern I love, there is a high probability that I will knit it more than once. My thoughts are already planning the next.
The knitty gitty details:
- Pattern: Swallowtail (free on Ravelry)
- needle: Size 7 4.5mm
- yarn: Dream in Color Baby in the colorway Cinnamon Girl
This was the first time I finished a project in Dream in Color Baby, which is a heavy lace weight. While I was knitting it did not feel like anything special. Let me tell you, once this shawl had it's soak and after blocking, it is a dream. So glad that many years ago, I went on a DIC Baby stash binge. Now, I keep looking for other shawls to knit up with it.
Inspiration for finishing this shawl has much to do with seeing Sam's . Which she completed as part of the KAL/CAL. It pumped me up to finish mine. Thank you Sam!
Seems like some things are coming off the needles, right? I agree they are, but in all honesty a lot of things are also jumping on the needles. That is just how I roll.
Sugared Violets in Madeline Tosh light-Celedon
A second Wholehearted in Plucky Knitter Primo in the color Thornfield Hall. The yarn was a lovely gift from my dear friend Julie!
Last but not least, Little Lace Leaf Scarf in Knitpicks Alpaca Cloud-Midnight. This beautiful yarn was a gift from my friend Jody. It had started out as a different pattern, but I wasn't feeling it. I think this one will be spot on.
Hmmm....just a few things. Heh- I am who I am!
Hope you had a wonderful week, and now relaxing with beautiful yarn surrounding you.
XO
Andi
So many beautiful knits. I love your swallowtail shawl. I am going to have to fight the urge to cast on each of the things you are working on.

Oh boy! I love that Celadon. I believe I have that in my stash.
Your Swallowtail is gorgeous. I love how the colorway isn't a dark red like maroon but has a bit of orange like paprika in it.

Finally I'm knitting again so I'm hoping to start shifting some WIPs. And I'm trying really hard to hold back from casting on anything new ... not sure if I'll succeed though, there are so many possibilities tempting me just now

Gorgeous all of them! The red in that first shawl is a darling shade of red. The swallowtail pattern is adorable!

Three new projects is what I have in mind too! Your Swallowtail is gorgeous in that rich semi-solid red! Have fun!

Ah thanks Lisa. There are so many lovely projects on Ravelry, it is rather hard to pick a bad pattern. Maybe that is why I cast on all things. :)

Ack! You knit all the things!!! I have Swallowtail in my queue too. Yours is lovely.

I have a mental list of projects to finish at the moment, but now that I have seen your beautiful shawl I really, really want to cast one on too! :)

I really want to make the swallowtail with handspun yarn. I've got this gorgeous pink gradient dyed merino cashmere silk fiber blend, that I feel would be absolutely perfect for a swallowtail.. though it'll probably take me a year to get from fiber to shawl :P
