Some of you may remember a love that I listed in this post. This was where I stated I was eagerly awaiting the release of Audry's new book. Well, guess what? It is here.
Most yarnies I know, love books. When you combine books and yarn, you get Lit Knits. Can't go wrong with that combination. Except when trying to decide what pattern to knit first.
Being me, it was instant love when I saw the pattern, Sail to Treasure Island. In my mind, I see myself knitting it in some lush squishy gray yarn. :)
My shawl cast on craze is not being helped along with seeing Avonlea. Can you believe I have never read Anne of Green Gables, which inspired this knit? That will need to be remedied soon.
You knew there would be sock included, Black Beauty Rides On!
Didn't I mention a giveaway? The talented Audry has offered me the privilege to gift one very lucky person, an E-book copy of Lit Knits. Are you pumped?
I have already shared with you just some of my favorite patterns from Lit Knits, now it is your turn. To win a copy of the E-book, simply let me know what pattern you would knit. You can go here to check out all ten patterns to help you choose. There you will also find information about how to pre-order a copy of the book by September 25th.
Let's break down the details of the giveaway.
- Leave a comment letting me know what pattern you would like to knit
- Ensure that you leave some way for me to contact you in the comment. It can be a Ravelry name or email address.
- Deadline for this giveaway ends on September 14th at midnight PST.
- What was your nickname growing up? Heh, just kidding, but you can tell me if you want. :)
Good luck! I don't want you to be too disappointed if you don't win, as there are more opportunities on this Blog Tour. Choo-choo...next stop, Angela of Pans & Needles, September 10th!
Since today is my actual birthday, I will share a birthday favorite.
XO
Andi
I would probably knit the Brinker hat for one of my sons or maybe all of my sons.
I also love September - it is my birthday month.
Sorry- no nicknames.

Oh, how beautiful!!! I don't want to participate in the giveaway since I do not knit but I wanted to leave a comment if you don't mind. :) Please do read Anne Of Green Gables, we had so much fun reading the books and watching the series. It's so wonderful! Wishing you a beautiful Wednesday!

Sweet video clip, I've never seen that film. What a great giveaway, I would choose Avonlea, it is so pretty, it's gorgeous in that delicate shade. My nickname at school, not very adventurous, was KB (my initials) but it could have been worse I dare say!

I'd definitely knit the Anne of Avonlea shawl. I loved those books when I was young and with the autumn days fast approaching it would be perfect.
My Ravelry name is: Iannah
Nickname: I stopped growing when I was 10. Never got past 4'11" and I have really little ears so was always nicknamed Pixie.

I am absolutely in love with Down The Rabbit Hole (I'm a rabbit lover) and Black Beauty Rides On (one of my favorite books/movies, I have horses, and the best dog I've ever had was named Black Jack after one of the names BB had).
Nicknames... Clyde, most of the time. My dad came up with it randomly since it sounds nothing like my name, which is a combination of his and my mom's name. He was tired of calling for one of us and the other thinking it was her name she heard!

Well, I hope you had a lovely birthday, and many wishes for a wonderful new year.
What an interesting group of patterns! I love classy, complicated patterns so I would be really torn between the motoring mitts and the garden socks (Wow, and green is my favorite color!)
Because occasionally I am impatient and need gratification sometimes, I would probably cast on the garden socks first, but quickly cast on the mitts too. This way I could go back and forth and get quick satisfaction from the mitts, and yet draw out the knitting and really enjoy the garden socks.
My name is Rebecca (email rms4052@verizon.net), but my mother always called me Mickey as a child. The name didn't stick through adulthood, but she still calls me that occasionally.
And one last plea - pick me! My birthday is the 16th (hint hint)

Love Avonlea! Love the Anne stories. Even got to visit the Green Gables site on Prince Edward Island a couple of years ago.
