Some of you may remember a love that I listed in this post. This was where I stated I was eagerly awaiting the release of Audry's new book. Well, guess what? It is here.
Most yarnies I know, love books. When you combine books and yarn, you get Lit Knits. Can't go wrong with that combination. Except when trying to decide what pattern to knit first.
Being me, it was instant love when I saw the pattern, Sail to Treasure Island. In my mind, I see myself knitting it in some lush squishy gray yarn. :)
My shawl cast on craze is not being helped along with seeing Avonlea. Can you believe I have never read Anne of Green Gables, which inspired this knit? That will need to be remedied soon.
You knew there would be sock included, Black Beauty Rides On!
Didn't I mention a giveaway? The talented Audry has offered me the privilege to gift one very lucky person, an E-book copy of Lit Knits. Are you pumped?
I have already shared with you just some of my favorite patterns from Lit Knits, now it is your turn. To win a copy of the E-book, simply let me know what pattern you would knit. You can go here to check out all ten patterns to help you choose. There you will also find information about how to pre-order a copy of the book by September 25th.
Let's break down the details of the giveaway.
- Leave a comment letting me know what pattern you would like to knit
- Ensure that you leave some way for me to contact you in the comment. It can be a Ravelry name or email address.
- Deadline for this giveaway ends on September 14th at midnight PST.
- What was your nickname growing up? Heh, just kidding, but you can tell me if you want. :)
Good luck! I don't want you to be too disappointed if you don't win, as there are more opportunities on this Blog Tour. Choo-choo...next stop, Angela of Pans & Needles, September 10th!
Since today is my actual birthday, I will share a birthday favorite.
XO
Andi
I absolutely love "Down The Rabbit Hole"! I would have to make those for my daughter who is an absolute Alice fanatic. My nickname growing up was "Pooh". The only person who was allowed to call me "Aim" though was my brother, for some reason if anyone else called me that it would make my skin crawl.
I'm PprmntMochaMama on Ravelry.

Many Happy Birthday returns to you!!!
This is a great book, & I really like the blanket too - Sail To Treasure Island.
My nickname growing up was nothing to do with my name(Julia), but of how clumsy I was...I was called Goofy as I was always tripping over things!!!

I'd say the Avonlea shawl or that Deep Sea Wanderer. I remember these movies the most and I have all of the Green Gables books.

I think I would knit the Avolea shawl, as I'm a huge fan of Anne of Green Gables fan :)

anne of green gables is still on of my favourite book series, and that shawl is simply beautiful.
I had a few nicknames growing up. The one that stuck through highschool was Boki.
I don't really know why but the variation on that was Bokles.
My dad still calls me that.

Happy Birthday!
I would knit Avonlea. One of my all time favorite books. If I was more daring, I'd knit Behind the Garden Wall, from another one of my favorite books. In fact, I recently reread The Secret Garden.
You have my email, but I'm also bigblueice on Ravelry. :)
My childhood nickname was Katie Did. What was yours?
Posted by: Kathy | 09/09/2013 at 01:05 AM
Definitely Treasure Island. Although not my favourite book, this knit is tempting me to re-read it with new eyes :0

Happy birthday! I bet you know that I would knit any and all shawls in that book, after that I would then start the sweaters :) I hope you have a fantastic celebration!!

The cover has me in looove. This book looks gorgeous.
I would have to knit Behind The Garden Wall first I think. The secret Garden was one of my most favourite books growing up, and the socks look like a fun challenge.
I had a bunch of nicknames growing up, but the most commonly used one was Manda-moo :P

Happy Birthday! I like all those patterns but Sail to Treasure Island is just breathtaking.
My childhood nickname was Janer...and my family still calls me that even though I'm in my 50's. :)

I'm bonkers about the treasure island blanket. However I feel like I'm knee-deep in stash and pattern. On the off-chance I win, I will pass. I'll give the designer my money if I continue to obsess on it:) Always sharing, Andi, you're the best.

Dear Andi, Happy 16 Candles! Long may John Hughes sustain you through the birthdays. I think it is hard to go past Robin Hood, I have always wanted to run away to the forest and live as an outlaw. Best to be warm and cosy when doing it.

Ooh! I would so definitely knit the "behind the garden wall" socks!
My rav name is neurasthenia.

I would really like to knit the sail to treasure island blanket. I think it would look fantastic on my bed and feel great wrapped around my shoulders, it also looks like a lot of fun to knit. I never really had a nickname growing up, but sometimes the guys at work call me Syd the kid. My ravelry username is gracee22.
