The new year will be upon us. Are you ready for it?
I have made my list of resolutions. Does your list look like mine? Heh!
To help with my list, a new KAL is beginning January 5th. If I do say so myself it is the perfect KAL for all. I am positive your resolutions will fit in with the theme, you should join us.
My goals for the year 2014 is to knit more. I will not be concerned about an overflowing socks drawer, I will knit all the socks.
I have so many wonderful plans for the blog in the new year. Much of the same in a way, but some changes. I do plan on more yarn reviews/giveaways. Hint: The first yarn review is from the company pictured above. :)
I will continue to share with you loves, and try to feature more things to enable you.
I have strayed in the last year from my original plan to search out and support indie dyers. I am going to give a better effort of that plan this new year.
I would like to share more techniques and lessons I learned. I would love it if you would share with me as well.
The list of resolutions/goals is long. Longer than previous years. I wonder if I am up for the challenge.
- Knit a cardigan
- Knit more from my knitting books and Ravelry library
- Rearrange my Ravelry queue. It is wicked obese and honestly a bit daunting.
- Try to knit from my deep stash more more
- Take better notes on my projects
And you, what does the new year look like to you? Maybe you are over the whole resolutions things or maybe you're like me, and have a plan of attack?
I have so many wishes for you all in the new year. Mainly I wish you happiness in abundance.
XO
Andi
O, I love yarn reviews ! Can't wait to hear all about them. ( too bad that shipping costs form the US are so high.. which doesn't mean I'll like any review less for it )
My new year's resolutions look quite alike indeed ;) although I also added more reading, socializing and be sunny-mooded. Hm, I guess my resolution mainly comes down to making more time for things. Do you think it would be a very naughty resolution to cut down on domestic chores to achieve the above ?;)

This year my resolution is to do more spinning and making my own yarn. I really love spinning yarn and my goal this year is to design some patterns that work well with handspun yarn. I am excited for your new KAL!

Knitting resolutions. I just want to be able to relax at some point and knitting helps me relax some.

i'm working on my goals for next year and plan to post them on the 1st. i've been ruminating on them for a few weeks now. i'm with you on your #2 goal - why add to the library if we're not going to use it?

I'm in! I was just writing on my Facebook page that I wanted to knit a cardigan for me this year (as it is too big of a challenge for me during the Ravellenics)! Great KAL! I have no new year resolution. Each year, I try to do my best in all :) It is always inspiring though to read what other people plan on doing! Have a great Sunday!

I'm with you on knitting more from deep stash, Andi. I still have too many yarns that I purchased in 2008 and 2009, the first years I was knitting seriously. I am hoping to reduce the size of that part of my stash significantly in 2014. I also want to knit with yarns I gotten more recently, so that they don't languish in the stash like the older stuff.
I also like the idea of knitting with patterns from my books and Ravelry library. My husband always gives me knitting books for birthdays and Christmas (4 more this Christmas), and I went kind of crazy buying patterns on Ravelry this year, so I'll be joining you on goal #2.
I am still formulating my goals list, and I'll be posting it on my blog later this week.

Perfect goals! Stashing down Is also a goal for me. 2014 will be the year to "simplify" and to live the moment--that doesnt go well with hoarding wool. Can't wait for everything My Sisters Knitter will bring in the NewYear!

I'm so in! I look forward to another year with your group and joining in on another Kal! This year for me will be all about knitting for myself more and trying some new things!

I also plan to seek out and knit with yarn from more indie dyers. Luckily, that resolution fits well with my plan to knit more from my stash, which is filled with gorgeous indie yarns I purchased without a plan and have been left to languish.
Isn't it lucky that yarn (properly stored) doesn't go bad ;)

Those sound like some great goals. Can't wait to read about it!

I will try to knit more from my stash this year. I did weed out patterns from my faces. I love the projects you have on the needles. Your penmanship is lovely. I'm so anal about mine.

I may have to join that KAL. I am working on my list right now and will post it soon. Yours is looking good, I think you will be able to do it :)

Well hello. I am new to knitting and am glad I stumbled upon your blog. I may have to pick your brain now and then :-). Right now working on a scarf. I am self taught. I watch a lot of you tube videos and have learned a lot. I have been eye balling the addi click bamboo set. Can you lend your opinion on those?
May you have a JOYful new year!!

You're my resolution soul sister! I've been thinking about those exact things except for wanting to knit more sweaters in general in 2014. Go you!

Definitely resolutions time again. I'm having a bit of trouble this year. But knit more is definitely top. Sometimes I try to add too many new things to try to my goals I forget that knitting will always be my top love.

I have another blanket in my sites this year, but my first resolution is to finish my current project first. I'm not even allowing myself to buy the yarn for the blanket yet. Oh, the anticipation! Looking forward to all you have to share in 2014. :)

Ha! I love your knitting resolutions in the very first photo - I think that is pretty much mine, too. I never have a plan :)

I too am going to do some knitting goals, mainly knit from the enormous stash that I have accumulated :) Looking forward to the new year with you :)

Knitting down the stash is always a resolution for me - HA! It never happens - always buying more yarn. So glad I found this blog this year. You introduced me to Luna Grey Fiber Arts which I love love. Found The Woolen Rabbit on my own, another great indie dyer. Let's pour the wine and cast on!

I'm definitely in with regards to the knit/knit more resolution!
I rarely knit from stash anymore... and I have so many nice yarns. Might be time to find new homes for some of them!

I had a bit of a giggle when I read your resolutions. :D Yup, they looked like mine! Like you, I'm also going to knit more from my currently owned patterns, and you've probably already seen my sock club ambition. It's very exciting.
I have enjoyed reading your blog this year and look forward to reading more about your happy knitting adventures. Happy New Year!
