Happy Sunday! First off I want to say thank you to all who wished me a good week after posting about my stressful one. I felt the love and I did indeed have a better one this time around. I think sometimes we all need to have bad days in order to truly appreciate the good ones. :)
Now, let's talk about knitting!
Do you remember the project above? If not that is okay as she has been in hibernation for a bit. It is my featherweight. As I was going through my WIP piles (yes plural), I saw her hiding out on the bottom and thought I would really like to wear my featherweight this winter.
I am not sure if this happens to you, but once I visit the WIPs and hibernating projects I have this overwelming need to revist those stitches. The visitation, as you can see above is much like opening a can of worms. Above are just a few of the knits laying in wait.
Then the lightbulb went off. My Sister's Knitter Ravelry group's current KAL came to an end on August 15th, a new one was due to start and we needed a theme. Why not a knit along that will help us all to tackle our WIPs?
If you are feeling the weight of your WIPs on your shoulders you should join us it starts September 1st.
For those of you like me who tend to cast on all things, have you visited your WIPs from long ago lately? Maybe you have gone through them and made decisions to frog them rather than knit them?
Hopefully today finds you with you plenty of time to play with yarn. Most importantly I wish you to have the best day today. :)
XO,
Andi
ok, now you really have me chuckling this morning......i have two WIPs setting right here on my desk that are in your pile; I know you inspired the pumpkin socks, but I could have sworn I saw the woodland shawl elsewhere.....that grey with the stripes isn't funky grandpa is it? (that's also in my pile)....cleaning out the closet brought a bunch of things to the surface. I think I need a 12-step program; are you also offering that in the KAL group?

Oh I am sad that I won't be part of this KAL, but I will be a lurker. I don't have enough WIPs to join. Also the projects that have been on my needles are secret until I publish them. Boo hoo to knitting and not sharing. I can't wait to see some FOs from the group!!

I don't have many wips, only four and one of those is a blanket that must wait for cooler weather [we were 100 yesterday], so as a treat to myself today I am casting on a new project. Except for a file cabinet the great cleanout of 2014 has come to a close. I have put my hands on every single item in my home and while I'm pleased with the results, I'm tired. Today has been declared a day of knitting and that is what I plan to do. I am not sure what I will cast on, but it's going to be fun deciding.
Have a beautiful day Andi and a beautiful week!

I have plenty of WIPs to join along, and I was just thinking last night that I should pull out some of them and try to wrap them up.

Glad you felt the love, got to mend and are well on your way to wrestling some F.Os out of those very pretty WIPs! Cheers for an awesome week ahead!

Hi Andi! Absolutely love the colour you chose for your featherweight! You'll surely love to wear it this winter. Maybe earlier?
I currently have only one wip on my needles, and I'm addicted to it. Enjoy your KAL!

What a great way to tackle the WIPs. I would join - but I actually only have one right now and it's too stressful to deal with right now. Especially with another move coming up.

Oh yes the old wip....I have many lol I have been crocheting a Minion, one of those little yellow men for over a year. Obviously it has been put away a lot to take that long. As you know I love being here just to see your knitting ☺☺

I don't know what this says about me, but after reading your post I have the urge to cast on a few things before Sept 1, so that I can have more WIPs to knit along with. I already have three shawls on the needles and two of them are lace-weights with lots of knitting to go. Maybe I'll cast on a hat or two. :)

Oooooooooooooooo...your pumpkin socks look great.
Mine were going along great guns until I tried to fix something that really didn't need fixing. I boogered it up big time. Back to the start for me. LOL

Wow! All your WIPs look so pretty - the yarns you use always look so lush!
I only have 1 crochet project at the moment - school starts in a few weeks and so I'm busy trying to catch up with what I need to do for that! Hopefully I'll have more time for knitting once term starts :)

funny but I thought you were always finishing each project as you casted on....I only have three projects on the needles right now so I'm on top of my projects. I try to limit to four or five tops! glad your week was kinder to you.

I don't have a lot of wips right now but your KAL makes me want to cast on everything so I have stuff to work on!

Haha. Every once in a while I pull out all my WIPs and do a little assessment. I spent the last few months diligently alternating new projects with old ones, and I'm down to three active projects and two that need to be frogged. I'm putting that off, though, since for at least one there's the chance it will strike me as just right in the future, and then I'll be half-way finished!

The featherweight looks so pretty - lovely photo and a beautiful color. I will try to join this as I have way way too many wips!!!

Andi I'm so glad you had a better week. I have 3 WIPs right now and two of them were just cast on. I mostly have 1-2 wips going at a time.

I (GASP) normally do not have UFOs. I guess that's the bonus to knitting on deadlines?
I'll be anxious to see all of your WIPs come to fruition over the next few months tho. There are some lovely things waiting there to be finished!

I had so many WIPS, it was crazy. I finally went through them. I finished some and let myself off the hook on a few. I had to give myself permission to frog some and move on. lol

Ooooh exciting! I have at least three projects that I have been avoiding. I can't wait to see your finished Banana Leaf Shawl! I have been eying that pattern since you first posted it. Love your blog, and I REALLY love that owl mug next to your featherweight.

I can see why you're twitchin' to work on those WIPs. They look lovely and they are such a colorful assortment as well! I have a feeling I have a cardigan languishing somewhere in some basket that could benefit from your KAL :) Knit Happy.

I'm so glad that this KAL is going to be another WIP finisher, as I'm desperately in need of closure on some of my projects! Like you, I can forget about a WIP if it's out of sight, but as soon as I revisit it, I'm filled with a burning desire to finish it again. I should probably try to keep fewer of them around!

I have a WIP right now... a Knit Night scarf, and it feels like it is taking forever! So- I accept the challenge! September is all about finishing projects so I can begin anew in October.

WIPs...let's not talk about them. But what a great idea. I have some cursed red yarn that I am DETERMINED to turn into a garment!
Love your knitting, as always!

Ooh, I love that teal! What is that shawl pattern? I am intrigued. I will swing by your Ravelry page. Ooh boy do I have two WIPs here that have been kickin' it in my room. Not to mention I still owe two staff gifts from last year! I can tie this in on Wednesdays.
