The beautiful Fall temps we are having here in Arizona helps one to forget the long hot summers. It also causes the desire to knit and wear knits to heat up. 118 degree temps are forgotten for a couple of months and I couldn't be happier.
Hermione's Everyday socks in Madelinetosh Sock Magnolia Leaf
Being happy leads to the desire the cast on all the things. While I am trying to refrain because it would be great to clear off the many WIPs on the needles, Fall socks needed to be cast on and were.
Needles nearly caught on fire with excitement when I cast on a lovely test knit for a favorite yarn dyer and designer.
Taking advantage of cool mornings by knitting on the scrap sock yarn blanket.
Not even close to the finish line and that is okay by me. These little squares are filling times when I only have time for a few rows of knitting.
Beautiful weather also brings on my desire to cook. Months of salads and cold pasta dishes are soon to be replaces by simmering soups and bubbling casseroles. Saw this recipe and new I wanted to add it to the menu this season. Remembered drinking this beverage when as kids we went sledding, minus the alcohol at that time, this too will be on the menu.
I know for many of you not in Arizona this season is bringing early snow and rapidly dropping temps, is it also bringing on the knitting?
My beautiful friend Erin shared this video on her blog. I could watch it for hours.
Have the best day today!
XO,
Andi
Wow, that video really is beautiful. The way the fog moves, so amazing!
We haven't had any snow yet, but it's definitely been colder around here, always between 5 and 10 degrees. So I've been wearing some of my handknits every day which is such a pleasure. I love to see your sock blanket grow. It's so colourful and happy.

Do I recognize some Hermione Everyday Socks? :) I'm enjoying fall too, I'm obsessed with candles again this season, it's so cosy to drink tea and knit surrounded by candlelights!
What a lovely video btw, thanks for sharing!

Autumn has finally arrived in the south and I too am finding my way back into the kitchen. Yesterday I made Tomato Dill Soup and since I have every single ingredient to make mulligatawny soup that is what I am going to do.
I am trying really, really hard to finish two projects before I cast on anything new, but I'm not sure I am going to be able to hold off :)
Happy Knitting!

As soon as I am finished with my Christmas knitting, I will be casting on a bunch of things just for me. Only mid 60s here in Tucson today so am bundled up as much as friends up north. I'm such a weather wimp. I have now switched from iced coffee and tea to the hot variety and am finding comfort in my knitting. I want to thank you for your blog, you are such an inspiration.

Oh so beautiful - the ebb and flow of the air is wonderful. I agree that cooler air makes for hotter crafting and cooking!

Yes! Autumn makes me want to knit more than other seasons. All those colors around, colder days, longer nights... I just feel like knitting all the time!
Hugs,
Kasia

So happy to know other knitters in the similar climate! I am glad I am not the only one! The mornings and nights cooled down here as well - perfect for knitwear.

It's that time of year, isn't it!? I'm having trouble keeping from casting on new projects as well. I really need to put a dent in my current ones before jumping into new ones.
And I love soup season. I'm hoping the next here will be split pea and ham---one of my favorites!

Thank you so much for sharing those recipes, they both sound super amazing. I am jealous that you are getting nice fall weather - here it's cold and wet and back in KS it's snowing...

This is where I come to see the zen of making, beautiful progress pics that honour all the stages of making not just the glory of the finished piece.
