Hello and Happy Easter!
How does this beautiful Sunday find you? It has been a good week and now I am looking forward to time with my family in celebration of Easter.
My sock goal of finishing a pair a month is still going strong. These new favs (something I say about every single pair the come off the needles), are knit with yarn from Wooly Wonka Fibers in the color way, Provence with a contrasting heel and toe from scrap yarn in my stash.
My April socks are in progress. The pattern for these is Dublin Bay Socks and the yarn is Lynai in the color Bloom.
I was honored to be featured in an interview on Junkyarn's blog. Kemper allowed me to ramble on about my sock yarn blanket. I believe it is going to be a series, so I am looking forward to reading about other peeps and their blankets.
Sock yarn scrap swapping is still happenings. Can I say how funny I find it that I get sooooo excited when I receive these little lovelies in the mail?
How could someone resist the urge to knit on this fun blanket when so many fantastic minis are being received?
Did you have a lot of knit happenings this week? Let me ask you something. Do you notice a decline in your knitting during warmer months? Just one of those random questions that popped in my head.
I will leave you with Happy Easter wishes and a lovely song.
Have the best day today!
XO,
Andi
Happy Easter, Andi! Love all the yarn talk and sharing here in this post. Those Dublin Bay Socks look so pretty!

both your March socks and your WIP April socks are so great! I love that speckled yarn for the April socks in particular. And what a cool interview about your sock blanket!

The yarn for your April socks is so pretty. I love it!
My knitting habits don't change when the weather is warm. There's definitely no decline and I usually don't choose the type of project I knit based on the weather. Heavy chunky wool project in August? Why not? :)

I love contrast heels and toes on simple socks. I've got some in the works too and I'm quite pleased with them, though they're not nearly so well co-ordinated as yours! I'm going to have to start earmarking heel/toe yarn in my scrap bag...

I love your Dublin Bay socks, Andi! That pattern has been in my queue for quite a while, it needs to be pushed further up :) and I totally understand the urge to knit blanket squares, they are just so quick and colorful.

I knit more when it's warm. My husband likes to be the one who drives (I can drive, but am happy to be the passenger as well). In the winter it's too cold to knit in the car, but when it's warm I can knit in the car in addition to the other time I have to knit. I just try to keep the really warm stuff (wool sweaters and whatnot) for places where there's air conditioning.
Inevitably, someone will look at me like I'm nuts, and then slowly try to explain that it's crazy to knit a sweater in the summer. The explanation that the point is to have it done so I can wear when it's cold as opposed to waiting until it's cold to make the sweater never seems to satisfy them and I can never understand why.

Yay for socks! I love both pairs - they are lovely and spring-y!

I was almost inspired to do my own sock yarn blanket, but decided it would be a better idea to learn to knit socks first! Can I enjoy your blanket vicariously instead, please?

I can't say that I find myself knitting less in the summer. I just might choose a project that won't sit in my lap, like a pair of socks.
I love seeing all your projects coming into being. I've gotten a bit stalled out on my own knits. (I lost my bag with the "One Blade of Grass" sock in it. The horror!) Hope to get my mojo back now that taxes have been sent off.

Happy Easter!! Those Dublin Bay Socks are gorgeous!!

it always makes me happy to come see your knitting photos, you use the best yarn! I'm not sure if I knit less, last year I knit lots because I was still falling in love with it. I don't really think I will stop, mainly because I still mostly knit socks and they're not hot to hold

Seeing your beautiful memories blanket on Junkyarn was the final push I needed to start one. I'm sure I'll work on it slowly, in bits, but I already love my 3 or 4 squares. I'd been saving heavier weight swatches for a blanket, one day, but this gives me a use for fingering weight.
I think summer KALs keep me motivated in warm months, plus so many war weather knit patterns are coming out. I am starting to focus on them more because I can wear them much longer.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

I hope you had a Happy Easter!

I enjoyed reading your so-called ramblings about your sock blanket. :-) And i LOVE how your blanket is looking so far.
And, to answer your question: summertime is the most productive time for me personally, because somehow i take more time to sit outside and relax by doing some stitches.. in our garden or abroad, on holidays, preferably by some lake. :)
