Happy Sunday!
Boy, do I have a fantastic giveaway for you. I am super excited because I get to share with you the love that is, SpinningFates. If you have been reading me a while, it is possible that you are aware of my undying devotion for Laurel and her beautiful yarn.
My sock drawer is filled with beautiful socks knit up in SpinningFates. There are more than are seen here. :) Obviously the colors in Laurel's shop are fantastic, but that is only a small reason for my passion. The luxury of knitting with the yarn, the customer service and overall great product will make me a forever patron of this shop.
Ireland Forever, Bazinga, and Mike and Sully. (above)
A bit about Laurel from her Etsy shop page:
A self-proclaimed 'yarn-a-holic', I love all things fiber! My passions are dyeing and knitting, while taking the occasional time out to learn to spin. My own flock is growing and I soon hope to include their fleeces in my shop. I also love embellishments, and feel that every knitter should have beautiful tools to work with.
So how about it...would you like to win this beautiful self striping skein in the colorway- Those Blasted Unicorns? Thanks to a generous donation from Laurel, here is your opportunity. Thank you, Laurel!!
For your chance to win this skein, leave a comment telling me what your favorite self-striping combination would be. Please ensure that I have a way to contact you if you are a winner, either by providing your Ravelry ID or an email address when promoted. This giveaway is open to readers outside the US as well.
The giveaway will close on May 16th at midnight MST. The winner will be chose via random number generator on May 17th and announced via a blog post on the same day. Good luck!!
Have the best day today!
XO,
Andi
Some new sock yarn would be so much fun!

I would love to see self striping with various shades of the same color, almost like a gradient but more stark contrasts. Shades of magenta or teal! cassburns2 on Ravelry

Hmmmmm I would say that a lavender, mint green, and bright orange. Sounds weird, but I think it'd be fun!

Ooooh this is such yummy yarn! I am a huge fan of colour, so it would be difficult to choose what my dream stripe combination would be. Probably a mix of jewel tones - magenta, turquoise, amethyst, with maybe a bright lime-y green in there to add a bit of zing!

I would go with a brick red, lighter red, pink, and light blue. That yarn is so gorgeous!

Magenta and lime green. Always. Xoxo lovely yarn.

Thank you for the amazing giveaway. I would love to find a self-striping yarn in all shades of purple, from pink purple to blue purple, all purple all the time :) I really love the rainbows too, the more saturated the better! dgwhite on Ravelry

I think my favorite self-striping color combo is probably dark red and light blue. They're my favorite colors in general, actually.

Oh wow Andi how exciting! I love Spinningfates yarn -- I've been dreaming about the 'when pigs fly' colorway.
I think my favorite self striping combinations are pink & white or a variation of blues.
Happy Sunday (:

I think my favorite self striping combo would be a royal purple with emerald green and teal!

Right now, today, my perfect self-striping yarn would feature very soft muted shades of brown, blue, green, and grey. I'm not ready for summer yet and still want the cool weather of winter. :)

I love jewel-tones so I would love a self-striping yarn in those colors, maybe blue, green and gold. I'm marciekr on Ravelry.

For me with socks, anything goes! The zanier the colour pairings the better, its my chance to really play with colour. Yellows are beautiful and pop with any colour - yellow, light blue and brown. ravid: mradford

My favorite would be pink, yellow, white, and light brown, for the colors of one of my favorite shows: beevand puppycat. My ravelry id is Cimorine

I really love the combos of a solid stripe with a variegated stripe. Those are just so appealing and stop me in my tracks.

Well, I'm already drawn to the Ireland Forever colors! But my favorite would probably be lilacs and greys - with maybe a soft shade of pink thrown in!

The name on that colorway is perfect!
At the moment, I've been gravitating toward a lot of reds. I think a red, charcoal, and dove grey would be my self striping yarn right now. ravID: sugarsb

I don't think I've ever used "real" self-striping yarn... would like to give it a try! I think a combination of mango and aqua would be nice... or anything tropical
Posted by: floribunda | 05/03/2015 at 10:41 AM
I have lots of favorite combos. Pinks, purples, oranges, browns, greens. Rainbows and sunset colors. I guess just about anything as long as it doesn't have a lot of blues.

Thanks for introducing me to another wonderful indie dyer. :)
I always find grays to be the perfect foil for other colors; the neutrality just makes everything else more beautiful.
