Happy Sunday! Despite a scatter brained week, knitting has been happening.
Pattern~ Bickersstraat by Kemper Wray Yarn~ Wooly Wonka Fibers in Oak Leaves
I knit shawl, scarves, hats, occasional garments (only two to be precise)...but when it comes down to it, there will always be socks.
Why is that most of us tend to fall into one specific category of knits?
2015 sock progress, two pairs are missing as they were gifted.
Of course I could be totally wrong and I am the only one who gravitates towards one type of knitting project. Just something I was thinking about as I was stuffing more freshly washed socks into my now overflowing sock drawer. It's not as if I live in a climate that lends itself to months and months of sock wearing.
It would seem that I am in good company as many of you are sock knitting addicts as well. :)
- Enjoyed reading Michelle's post, Epidemiology of socks.
- Then of course there is Leisl's monthly sock challenge.
- Kemper had a fun post titled, so you want to knit socks?
- Sara hosts a lovely podcast and Raverly group, love.sock. wool.
- Alice hosts a Personal Mystery Sock Yarn Club in the My Sister's Knitter Raverly group.
- The ever popular post from Susan B Anderson's How I knit my socks post.
Leaving you with a song that has been stuck in my head for days. Good thing it is a lovely song. :)
Have the best day today!
XO,
Andi
yep...there will ALWAYS be socks. (I'm three drawers full now....and still knitting them!)

Ahhh... such a good song to have "going in my head" all day. =) I have some how missed the sock bug; but, I must have something going at all times... therapy, I tell you. Therapy. ;) blessings ~ tanna

When I lived up north, I knit more mittens, scarves and sweaters.
Now that we live in a warm-all-year climate, it's most socks and dishcloths. I have made a couple of cowls, but I gave them all away. I found out I really like making them, but don't much like WEARING them. ;-)
Have a happy Sunday.

The socks look awesome! Lovely colors and a lovely stitch pattern.

You always remind me that I need to make more socks. I keep gravitating to summer garments right now....

Each craft that I am into has its own category. If I crochet - it has to be a dress, if I knit - it has to be a sweater/cardigan, if I do machine knitting - it's a dress again. Still no socks, though :) Happy Sunday!

Absolutely love that colorway and pattern married together - fantastic!

I'm a scarf knitter. Throw in a few shawlettes and some cowls. But mostly scarves. I so want to learn how to knit socks - and one day I will! And then I know I will gravitate towards constantly making them. Oh, what fun I shall have!
I heard that song the other day on tv. I couldn't quite understand all the words - but I like his voice....

That sock is absolutely beautiful! Now that I have combined a whole lot of patterns and my own stuff, I have come up with a perfect fitting and simple toe up, magic loop pattern, and I have a very empty sock drawer, so have made several pair in the last few weeks. Loving knitting them now!

I always have a couple pairs of socks on the needles. And I can't make them fast enough to meet demand. Everyone loves handknit socks.
I love that song!

I think sock knitting is very addictive for many reasons: you don't really need to get gauche (let's be honest, that's great!), and you don't need that much yarn, so it's fairly cheap (that's great too). Also, sock projects aren't too big to carry with you, so they make a perfect on the road project. They don't take long to knit, they're a great gift. And a big bonus: you can actually wear them! That's why people fall into knitting categories (especially the sock knitter categorie), because once you've enjoyed knitting socks, you can't go back!

If I'd have to fall in a knitting category I'd also fall in the sock knitter category. Which reminds me it's been 2 months or so since I finished my last pair! Time to change that..

Oh such yummy socks ... really love the one you are working on. I tend to gravitate to socks and scarves. Happy Sunday :)

loved that this post was brought to us by "socks". (a little bit of sesame street there). I think I'm more of a "shawls' girl but now I'm leaning towards sweater.

Happy Mama's Day darling. LOVE your stack of socks. The stitch pattern for this new pair is different and interesting. I like the color way.

I like to knit socks--baby or child size! Socks for men take an eternity. I have never made a pair for myself. I think I should try a pair for myself sometime. Love your post!

Oh, Andi, I love your socks! Love all these links today too : ) Hmm, I'm not going to think about the category I fall into...so let's just say we can never really have too many of whatever it is we like to knit, okay? since I'm not sure a drawer (or two or three) of knitted things is enough ; ) Wishing you a wonderful week! xo

Yup, sock madness, but they are just so much fun to knit! Even though I have quite large feet - I can finish a pair in three days if I want to. Now that I dye my own yarn, I desperately want to knit a pair in every colorway. Need to work my way through the stash first...
Love your Bickersstraat Socks, Andi :)

I love socks, and I used to be more of a sock-knitter in college, but I think more than anything else I'm a shawl knitter. No matter what else I'm working on, I always have to have at least one shawl in progress! I love the colorway of your Bickersstraat socks-so light and pretty :)

I love those socks, the colourway is beautiful! And a great sock round up of links, too. Riptide has to be one of my faves in the past year, it's just so sweet and catchy. I love it.

Wanting to knit socks is the reason I am now called a Knitter. I never would have thought five years ago as I was learning to cast on that knitting would become such a huge part of my life, but I am so thankful it did.
Would you mind sharing the pattern you are using for the top photo? Super cute.
