Hello there!
Yarn~ Circus Tonic Handmade Revelry Sock in the color Musk Lorikeet (hint- yarn review and giveaway coming soon). Tea~ pukka love. Pattern~ Melodia by Janina Kallio.
It's is Sunday- whoot whoot! Could be just me but this week felt a bit long. So basically when the weekend arrived it felt like the day of school before Summer break. Do you remember that feeling? As you can see above I have started a new project and that means...I finished a project. Fist pumps all around!
This beauty is the Low Country Shawl by Judy Marples. The pattern was a gift from my sweet friend, Kate. It is knit up is some scrumptious yarn from Neighborhood Fiber Co rustic fingering in the color Sheridan Circle. My first time finishing a project with this yarn and it soaks and blocks up like a dream.
The pattern was wonderful with a nice mix of yummy garter and a bit of lace pattern. Also adding to the lovely mix the pattern works up into a nice large shallow shawl so that it can be worn as more of a scarf-style shawl.
In other knitting news it was an amazing mail week once again for me.
I received another mini swap package from amazing Laura. Don't you love that magnet, the card (snow!!) and little agenda book?
Then from a new friend on Raverly, Sue. I think the chocolate Grahams lasted about a minute after the package was opened. She included some delish Buckeyes along with some homemade cards.
Lovely Taylor sent me this swap package. She is making a rainbow blanket for her son so I tried to send her as many colorful colors as I could and in turn her son drew me a rainbow...be still my heart!
Another thoughtful package from another new friend Chris. I can't tell you how amazing it is to open the mail after a long day at work. It goes back to what we discussed last week about how truly fantastic yarnies are.
Going back to how brilliant yarnies are, thank you all for your wonderful comments last week. I loved hearing your thoughts on whether knitting makes us better people. I found myself nodding my head in agreement with every post.
We have talked about my finished shawl, good mail days and now for the upcoming happenings. Over the next couple of weeks there will be yarn reviews, a book review/giveaway, and another yarn review with a giveaway...so exciting. Cannot wait to share all the fun with you guys. A big thank you to all the "makers" who contact me to review knitting related goodies. It is such a privilege to be able to try and share your wonderful creations!
Wow, sorry guys this post was a bit rambled and all over the place. How about a quiet pretty song? Enjoy and have the best day today!
XO,
Andi
Beautiful shawl Andi and since I live in the LowCountry I think I will be adding this to my list.
Enjoy a the day, the week, and really, this life!
Much love.

I am loving that Musk Lorikeet. The perfect color for the approaching spring. It is looking a bit like yarn Christmas over there. How marvelous!

What a beautiful shawl, Andi! I love that colour and it looks like that yarn has the perfect drape.
And I was just looking at the Phoebe Whal agenda the other day... isn't it adorable?

Your shawl is gorgeous!
I'm trying so hard not to let my sock yarn blanket take over my life again right now, but everywhere I turn people are posting about theirs and it's getting really hard to resist.

I really like Alexi Murdoch. I bought "Time Without Consequence" immediately after hearing it somewhere on the web a couple years ago.
I am amazed at all those yarnie gift packages! How on earth do you keep up? I mean, it means you have to send packages in return, right? Wow. That's a fair bit of dough, but the time involved, holy Toledo!
Anyway, I really do like your finished shawl. Although I have a few triangular ones hanging around that I use, I must say the rounded or shallower ones are a bit more practical. I have my knitting mojo back it seems. I've also re-learned how to 'refine' my method of knitting Continental. My wrists were taking a beating because I always held my index finger up to hold the yarn and to manipulate it up or down, or around sometimes. So I've learned to keep my finger down right against my left needle and what a huge difference it's made.
Have a lovely week ahead and happy knitting!

Wow, what a week to be opening parcels and mail, almost seems like Christmas! And then there's that shawl, what a stunner! You can already see just from the pictures how utterly fantastic the yarn must be.

What a beautiful shawl, I love it. Also that pink/melon color yarn - musk lorikeet? is scrumptious. It is a good shade to celebrate that spring is around the corner.

It was a very long week -- but the weekend is not long enough. If only I had one more day, I think I could be rested!
You had an amazing mail week! Knitters are awesome.
And the shawl is beautiful, truly. I love that long, crescent shape -- so wearable. Enjoy it!

That shawl is gorgeous! The pink yarn is yummy. Gives hope that warmer weather (for us at least) is just around the corner. :).

Such lovely gifts for such a lovely person.
As for the blue shawl, it is a treat. I am so sure you will get lots of wear time out of it very soon!

Man, you made out like a bandit. These are terrific packages. Every time I read one of your posts, I am reminded I need to try more tea. I love my green tea, but sometimes get tired of my mint. I have a new mug that I fill with 12 oz of hot water every day and need to drink at least five cups to meet my daily water quota. Oh and sometimes I wish you'd place the song at the beginning so I can listen to it while I read your post :O) and comment.

Your low country shawl is stunning, what a beautiful FO! And such amazing, inspiring yarn packages... I can't wait to see what you'll be knitting up with all your goodies. And that song... I'm not familiar with Alexi Murdoch, thanks for the introduction!

Wonder what thread is that one in the first photo. It looks pretty and delicate. Beautiful yarns and gifts with the swap.

You know another great thing about sharing the knitting? It makes one smile. First smiles I've all day reading your post. :-) I am very excited to know what you think of Circus Tonic Handmade. That Revelry sock is so soft... I love the shawl you have just finished. It looks like my kind of shawl! I might have to check out the pattern (oops, looks like another one might get added to the very long queue of shawls...)!
