Hello loves and happy Sunday! Feels like it has been a while since we chatted and for good reason we had a wonderful sock series posts. I really want to take a moment to thank all the wonderful guests Staci, Jesse and Mina. It was such a treat to be able to learn more about socks, be inspired by gorgeous photos and get some new ideas. In addition thank you for all who commented!
Normally we chat about my months of loves, but instead this month I plan on closing out with a giveaway? How does that sound? :) We will get to that in a bit. First how about some knit happenings.
Summer months have caused my knitting to slow down a smidge. For some reason during these warmer months that been accompanied with record breaking temps, I have been reaching for the tea and a good book more often.
Pattern~ Pebbles by Mina Phillips Yarn~ AndreSueKnits in the color Puddle Jumper
My go-to Summer knitting projects are getting some love and of course they are socks. Why of course? Primarily for reasons we all know, portability and the fact that no warm wool is sitting on my lap.
Wonderful mini skein and tea swap packages received from lovely international friends! Which resulted in some delicious new to me teas being samples and coveted.
Here is the only problem with swaps where you receive teas that you can't get in the US...you can't get them in the US. I am going to put this out there and see if any of my overseas friends can help. I am obsessed with the Taylors of Harrogate Rose Lemonade Infusion and would like to know if someone would be interested in a tea swap with me? Let me know. :)
Enough rambling about my happenings, how about a giveaway? In honor of this month's Sock Series I have some treats for one lucky person.
Ebook ~Beyond Vanilla Socks Part 1 by Mina Phillips.
A skein of Opal Smile sock yarn, The Sock Ruler, Ebook Beyond Vanilla Socks and Tuft Woolens Hand Balm in the scent Royal Apiary. I will also be throwing in few extra goodies not pictured here.
If you would like to be entered in this giveaway leave a comment below telling me your favorite thing about knitting socks. This giveaway is open world-wide and will close July 16th at midnight PST. The winner will be drawn and selected via random number generator on July 17th.
Sending you all much love and wishing you the best day today!
XO,
Andi
Knitting socks always makes me remember the Christmas my Mom and I knit our first pairs of socks together. Unfortunately, she is no longer able to knit like she used to, so I spend most of my time knitting for my wonderful Mom.

I am making hugs for the feet of those I love-my darling child as she heads off to college this fall will have me with her "every step" of the way, my family in WI because we live so far away from each other, my husband as hope for continued safe returns from his travels overseas. Then you have the beautiful yarns, the portability, and according to my husband-safety equipment(double points) if I ever need to get out of a sticky situation!

I enjoy sock knitting because I'm never bored. Knit a cuff, then the leg. About the time I'm tired of the leg, I turn the heel and pick up gusset stitches. Then I'm ready for a little social knitting on the foot. Before I know it, I'm decreasing to make a toe. The variety in yarn and patterns seems almost infinite - never boring. And more . . .
Thanks for the giveaway. It is very generous.

The best thing about knitting socks is the variety of fabulous yarns available,Opal, Regia, Madeline Tosh to name a few. And, all the new ways we can use to knit them!

I love all the different knit skills you can learn while sock knitting. 4 needles 2 short circulars or magic loop. Ease of all the possible stitch patterns & the beautiful yarns. Plus the looks on no knitters faces when you tell the you are knitting socks! Dorinda

I'm fairly new to sock knitting and so have so much to learn! I love the portability but oh the sock yarn! So many beautiful yarns, color ways and fiber content.
I started with dpns but am now liking the two socks on one needle, bonus is no more 'find the needle in the car' games.

Knitting socks are my go to item in the summer. I am knitting a pair with Cascade Yarn Fixation. It has elastic in it and it's very different (texture wise) to knit with. Sock yarn comes in so many colors and there are lots of patterns to play with. Portable and lightweight, socks are perfect summer knitting items.

I love that sock patterns can range from very simple to very complex, you can visually see your progress in a short span of time, and they are so portable. Plus there are endless colorways to choose from!

The thing I love the most about sock knitting is all the great sock yarns that are available to knit with.

Sock knitting is enjoyable because of the portability and watching your sock being created by your own handiwork. There's a certain sense of accomplishment in successfully following the pattern, turning the heel and stitching the toe. Your posts are a cherished part of my Sunday routine!

I love that I can take my sock knitting anywhere and that my daughter will literally hold the socks in her hand as I bind off the toes so she can put them straight onto her feet.

I'm a brand new sock knitter as in I've got the cuff of one sock knitted. I have huge feet (size 11) and being able to knit pretty socks is why I have relearned to knit. I'm down in Tucson so really only need socks in the winter.

I think the best thing about socks is how they're always useable - no need to worry too much about seasons. And the process of them too. And the gorgeous yarn. Basically, everything :)

I love to have a pair of plain-ish socks for my on the go knitting (or my I'm too tired to think in the evening knitting). I love that you can use crazy colors and then, when you're done and wearing your crazy colored socks, it's like a little secret only you know! I also love knitting socks for the people in my life who appreciate them ... what a wonderful thing to give someone, that they'll get so much use out of!

I knit 2 at a time toe up, magic loop, because I know I would never finish a pair if I did them one at a time. My favorite part of knitting socks is the wonderful way they feel inside the tactical boots I wear 12 hours everyday for work. Nothing else can come close to how good my hand knit socks make my feet feel. Very few other people get socks made by me so the ones who do know they are Very special indeed.

My favourite thing about them is there are so many people to knit them for in my household. My husband and youngest son love them just as much as I do, I sometimes start a pair for me and they tell me partway through that they should be for youngest. Not too many other things I knit can do that!

My favorite thing about knitting socks - besides the size (yes, I can finish a project this size - eventually) - the portability - but my overall favorite is - WEARING THEM!
Hand knit socks actually FIT!

The portability and ease of stop and start knitting make socks a wonderful project!

I love sock knitting because I grew up in Canada and you can't get through the winter without a good pair of woolen socks and hand-made socks always fit so much more snuggly than do store bought. Also, because my grandmother taught me how to knit them, how to do a proper heel and gusset, and how to kitchener graft - so knitting socks always makes me feel like I'm home.

My favorite thing about knitting socks is that they are small enough to let you try new techniques without a huge time investment. It's easy to decide to begin again and rip out what you have.

I don't really know why I love knitting socks but I really adore them. The wonderful choices of fine wool, the patterned yarns, the speckled yarns. Always looking for a new pattern to do the next pair. Love giving them away for a gift to family and friends who in turn really love them. As soon as I finish a pair the next pair are being started. That rose lemonade tea sounds wonderful and liked the look of that Twinings Soderte tea. Have a great week.

So much to love about sock knitting but if I had to choose just one thing as a favorite it would be the portability.
Thank you for the sock series. It was great fun to follow along and learn.

I love discovering how variegated or self-striping yarns will work themselves up, as socks tend to bring magic out of these types of yarns. I also enjoy trying out a new stitch pattern or technique with socks, because I'm not committed to weeks of said stitch pattern with socks. :)
