Happy Sunday!
Hello there! We made it to the weekend. That means time to celebrate with lots of yarn and fun. What is it about shorter work weeks (labor day in the US), that make the week feel longer? Someone should study that and get back to me. :)
New sock hopped on to the needles, yes all by themselves. Among quite a few other projects. I blame the castonitis on the coming of Autumn. The Autumn season has a way of curing all sorts of knitting mojo issues and inspiration deflation, at least it does for me. While I have never really dealt with the lack of knitting mojo I have heard many stories, tell me is it really painful and is there medication for it? ;)
Spurring on the desire to knit, I received a lovely mini skein swap package from my dear friend Anna Jane. Just looking at those colors makes me excited to add them to my blanket. Then of course the teas...because tea is my knitting juice. Isn't that mug rug adorable? As you can see from the first pic it has already been put to good use.
Other than knitting all the things or rather casting on all the things, this weekend is still happening. It is my birthday weekend and that means time with friends and family. The most wonderful mom in the world, my sis and I are all going out for lunch to celebrate.
This weekend also marks the anniversary of 9-11. It still feels like yesterday, at least it does to me. Since that fateful day so much more pain has been loaded on to all of our hearts. My birthday wish is no different than those past, may the coming year bring some much needed peace and an end to hatred.
I will leave you now with a tune and a huge thanks for making each birthday I celebrate with each and everyone one of you more special than the last.
Have the best day today!
XO,
Andi
Happy Birthday weekend, Andi!

I love that knitted tea rug. Do you know if there's a pattern for it. It looks like a lovely way to use up stash. Yarn.

Happy Birthday Andi! My birthday is in the coming week also, and my wish is the same as yours: Put an end to the hatred and greed and get back to just getting along with each other. Many many blessings to you in the coming year

Happy birthday!
So that's why I have so many socks on the needles; they jump on all by themselves! Thanks for solving this mystery.

Is it your birthday Andi? How grand! September is wonderful months for birthdays :0) I completely agree with Autumn curing all sorts of muses that have been on vacation per say since June... it is the beauty of the season and the restful breezes that come from windows that are once again open... enjoy your weekend.

Happy birthday Andi!! Hope it's a great one!
I really love your blog and look forward to it each weekend. It's a bit of quiet time to indulge in knitting, one of my favorite things to do when I'm not otherwise committed. Thanks for sharing your knitting and thoughts with me each week. :)

Happy birthday Andi, I do hope you had a great one with your family. Wonderful mini gift. We thought of you all on this 15th anniversary this weekend. I watched a documentary last night on the 9/11 atrocity, it still sends utter shivers down your spine at the sight of it all.

Happy Birthday Andi! My daughter shares your birthday. She curses 9/11 - it has ruined a day that should be filled with happiness and fun. I hope you had a good one, despite the sad associations.

Happy birthday, Andi! I hope you had a great day with your family. That's such a pretty package you received from Anna Jane. The mug rug is just lovely! As for the new sock on the needles....ooohhh myyyy! It's just gorgeous. There's something about knitting a vanilla sock with sweet yarn that brings such joy.

It was my birthday weekend too, Happy Shared Birthday Weekend!! It's so funny how new projects can just jump on the needles and start themselves, isn't it? It looks like you got quite a lovely package there-I especially love the alpaca card :) I hope your birthday weekend was full of all the things you like!
