Happy Sunday!
Hello there. How was your week? It has been a tough week/month/year on our hearts with hurricanes, floods and senseless killings. I may blog and chat about yarn and not mention how my spirit breaks with all the tragedies going on in our world-not because I don't care or because I am oblivious, but because knitting is my solace. My way of dealing with all the tragedies.
Each stitch represents reflection and healing for me. Others may look at it at a hobby, but we know different. In addition to the knitting, I search out blogs to read so that I can take in the words and find inspiration in the images. Some may think blogging went away with Instagram, but when I post my weekly loves I find myself having to choose between hundreds. So my advice to you if you blog- keep blogging.
Without my blog I would not have made the friends I have or share with you all the lovely yarn treasure to be had. This year I have been featuring indie dyers where I can spread the love for small business and artists who fuel my knitting therapy. I am able to do that because you all visit me and allow me to do so by reading my blog. In turn I have been introduce to some dyers and yarns by reading other's blogs.
Blogging has also given me the opportunity to create a Raverly group filled with the most wonderful people. Sometimes it can feel like I am selfishly taking about me, me and me...this group allows me to see what you are working on and knit along with you.
The point to all this rambling...if you blog keep blogging. You may hear that blogging has gone away and that no one reads blogs anymore. I can tell you that is not true. Please keep blogging, we are reading it and it provides endless hours of entertainment for us. While I am guilty of reading posts and not commenting sometimes- I read your words and love them.
If you are thinking of creating a blog- do it.
Have the best day today and enjoy a song!
XO,
Andi
Thank-you for the encouragement! I've been blogging for nearly 8 years now and sometimes it can be hard to continue. But, I think it is hard to beat the format. Plus, it is easy to find old posts and share them with others.

Thank you for this beautiful post, dear Andi! Among all the craziness in the world, including the one, that is just around the corner, in my neighborhood, I feel like knitting and blogging keeps me focused and anchored. I love IG, there is so much visual inspiration there, but I agree with you, blog is something more... I love my little journal, and though these days I feel like time is slipping through my fingers, I still try to commit to writing and taking photos, because it makes me so happy to keep these journal with projects, beautiful yarns and inspiring people. And, yes, please, keep blogging!!!!

Keep on blogging, I am reading faithfully even though I rarely comment. I agree that knitting is our therapy and a way to mentally process all that goes on whether it's in my own heart, my home, my country or anywhere else in the world. As Elizabeth Z said, Knit on with hope and confidence through all crisis!

knitting and solace...how it's gotten me through so many rough spots throughout the years! You are so right. And about the blogging, too. There are times when I think it's time to let my blog go....and then I think of all the wonderful friends I've met....and how I've felt when some of my favorite people have left the blog world for something else. I wish I was as regular with my posts as you, my friend! Sunday mornings are a joy to visit with you!!!

I still like reading blogs. I have spent countless hours reading blogs instead of knitting!!! Always enjoy visiting yours :)

I definitely feel like blogs are dwindling, but I try to keep mine going semi-regularly and I'm very thankful for the folks like you that keep theirs going too. I love Instagram and have a handful of podcasts I follow, but I still go to my blog feed first when I need some knitting consumption time.

Thank you for this post Andi. Such words of comfort and encouragement are surely needed right now. As for blogging, I admit that this year has been a struggle for me to blog consistently. Time constraints and sometimes lack of motivation are the main reasons. But I agree that blogs are still a wonderful way to connect with others and I treasure the friendships that I have made over the years through blogging.

Olá do Brasil!!
Amei o post.

Hello from Brazil !!
I loved the post. I found your blog just looking for active blogs.
I also love blogging and I also think that Instagram does not replace that pleasure. In fact, no social network replaces. Sad many blogs have been abandoned.
I liked your blog and will come back more often.
Google translation, sorry for the possible mistakes
