Happy Sunday evening!
Hello there loves! It is a bit later on Sunday...but I made it. ;) How was your weekend? Are you in the throws of decorating for the holidays? Decorating has been done in my family home, due in large part to my insistence. I like to make the holidays last as long as possible.
It would seem that in addiction to knitting, the cooler temps also bring out the reader in me. I feel like I have been devouring books. How about you, is reading a seasonal thing for you? I have heard of summer reads and such, but since most of the year it is summer in my parts, it doesn't happen for me.
These socks seemed to be knitting themselves. That or the knitting faeries are visiting while I sleep. All I know is they are a joy to knit. The pattern is called Feathering the Nest by Danielle Jorge (you may know her as Little Bobbins knits). The yarn is from a new to me dyer, Playful Day Yarns. Let me tell you, this will not be the last time I use this yarn...I am addicted.
Also on my needles is the sample knit for Anne Podlesak that I mentioned in my last post. I am moving along on it as I should be. I love that sample and test knitting allows me to try out new techniques and patterns.
So obviously my knitting mojo is coming along nicely. Have you been able to squeeze in knitting amongst all your holiday activities?
I hope your week and weekend haven't been too crazy. Have the best day today!
XO,
andi
I am knitting amongst the holiday preparations. Next week I have some events to attend and then the week before Christmas should be quiet and cozy. I read about the same amount through the seasons. I do think I look for lighter reading in December.

Those are darling socks. I love the slanting lines. Very sweet.
Yes, I've been reading more. Right now I'm quite fascinated by Michael Pollan's new book on LSD and psilocybin. It's very good.

I have picked up and abandoned so many books lately. Two more weeks until Christmas break - I am hoping I’ll find a book. On the knitting front - so many fun projects!

I'm making the Christmas gifts to my friends this year. I'm crocheting snowflake ornaments & sewing little Scandinavian-style felt ornaments, too. I just finished making some dishcloths to give, I made a set of 5!
The Playful Day yarn looks so beautiful! <3

Absolutely in love with the pairing of Feathering the Nest and Playful Day yarns! So lovely and will be jumping to the top of my sock knitting queue for next year. Totally agree that decorating the house for the holidays helps to put one in a festive mood. One of our favorite things to do in the evenings is to cozy up in front of the tree and watch the sparkly lights.

Loving the texture of the Feathering the Next design, it's so pretty! I'm enjoying the holiday decorations quite a bit, too- even though my 6-year-old thinks that we need more, more, MORE!

My Holiday knitting is done! Im sending a few teeny tiny gifts to some long time friends today. I knit myself a holiday candy cane hat. I'm going to wear it everyday until Christmas

I love the way your knitting matches your book cover

Oh yes, decorating started before turkey day. It's just though a corner of our house from the fireplace to the piano. I love getting it done early so I have all of December to enjoy it. That's also a reason why I like to send out Christmas cards early especially since we paid for the cards and all the work that goes into getting it together. I leave cards up all year until the new ones come in.
