Happy Sunday!
How was your weekend? Did you get some time off for the 4th of July? I did and while I could not bear to go out into the scalding sun to celebrate, it was nice to just relax. Of course knitting happened, maybe a little too much knitting, is that possible? I think it is only a problem if your laundry and cleaning is piling up...at least that is how I justify excessive knitting periods. ;)
Progress on my Harry Potter themed socks is coming along. Again if you would like to knit a long, just pop on over to Instagram and knit with us. The pattern for these socks is Vanilla Latte Socks, of course having the perfect not vanilla pattern is essential,am I right?
Lots of books are being read, Summer calls for light and funny tales. Fitting that ticket is the above Mindy Kaling book. Of course being the weirdo I am, I also am watching The Mindy Project on Hulu. It just seems like the thing to do. Reading or watching any fun things this Summer?
Oh and back to knitting, I needed to start a purse knitting project. Of course socks are the perfect small carry around knitting. Aren't these colors fun? The yarn is Nomadic Yarns in the colorway Honeydukes. Originally I started these just to have something to work on out in public, but then i couldn't stop. That is the curse/addiction of self-striping yarn. :)
So, now to you...what is going on in your world. How has your Summer been?
Leaving you with a song and wishing you the best day today!
XO,
andi
Lovely post, Andi, and glad you had a good weekend. Mindy Kaling is one of my favourite authors! This weekend I did some baking and went to the beach. I don’t knit but my Mum and Nan do. It’s so therapeutic to read these types of posts, thanks for sharing! :-) xx

I got a full four-day weekend for the fourth, and based on how much I napped through it, I desperately needed it! I've been having a crazy busy summer so far, so I've had little energy to do anything other than re-watch She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Things should settle down in a week, though, and I have a list of books and shows to start!

I love your HP socks. ?The two colorways are fabulous together!
I usually like light reading in summer, but this year I am on a history tear, and I just can't stop reading about 20th century Europe!
I love Mindy on TV but could get not get through that book. I hope it resonates better with you!

Hi Andi, I’m knitting a pair of Hermoine’s every day socks using Knit Picks Gradient Chroma. You knitted a pair in that yarn some time ago, and I loved it so much I purchased the same colorway and knit a pair for myself. This new pair is for my wonderful daughter-law in a different colorway. I don’t like the colorway so much, but what an addictive, fabulous pattern! Glad you are back,
Cheers, Katyj47

Our Fourth was lazy as homebodies. And thankfully there weren't a lot of illegal fireworks that night + thankfully our kittens were fine in the house. Summer has been super busy since I've been chauffeuring the kids to and from their math classes. I'm so ready for a break and being able to not worry about time and to get my sewing machine out again.

I love your vanilla latte socks. The Vanilla Latte pattern. It is my vanilla sock pattern. We had a quiet but nice long weekend, finishing up with a potluck picnic with friends on Sunday evening. I am reading Spinning Silver - a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin fairy tale with some plucky heroines. I wouldn't have picked it up but it is a book club selection. It's a good summer read.

Very fun socks! I have not read the Mindy Kaling book, but imagine it's funny and entertaining - great summer reading.

O well, as long as one still has some clean undies, there shouldn't be a problem, right ? And clean socks, but those of course will have to be knitted first, so there's the perfect excuse ;-)
Those stripey socks are gorgeous !

Beautiful socks! The first ones are going to be wonderful for Fall. It seems like Fall is coming fast. I went to Wallmart and already see all the school supplies out.

Love both of your HP themed socks, especially the self-striping. I’ve been binging on Stranger Things and eating lots of ice cream because it’s so very hot here. Hope that you are having a great summer!

Love the colors of your socks! I own that book but have to still read it. I will add that to my next book to read as a fun Summer read. I am also working on knitting some socks, they are the perfect light project to carry around during the summer on trips.
Have a good weekend!
