Last Sunday was great and this Sunday..just as great. A lot of things are similar, especially the football. Wait there is one difference. I have some FOs to show you. Yes, you read that right. The girl who has a million and one UFOs, completed two today.
Lighting makes it look like two different blankets, doesn't it, but it is only one ripple. So the sister's ripple is completed. I will probably make many more of these. There is no better stash buster than a ripple. As usual I used by go-to yarn- I love this Yarn from Hobby Lobby. There are a million colors and very economical, and you just can't beat the softness.
I finished my Peaks and Valley Scarf. I posted about this scarf a month ago.Janet, my favorite scarf designer sent some of us fans, an early release of this pattern. In typical Twisted Goddess fashion, is was simple but not boring. Oh and as if to back up my love for Janet's designs, one of her scarf patterns has been picked by KnitPicks to be included in their Independent Designer Program. Bravo! I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I think the same can be said for The Sister, because I asked her model it and she modeled it right on out the door!
I am still working on my socks for the SKA. I am on sock number 2- I am making some good progress. So let's see working on socks-yep same as last Sunday. Watching football-yep same as last Sunday.(my Broncos are not winning this weekend, but my fingers are still crossed and I have my good luck charm really nearby) Cooking, indeed, some of that is going on too. I am really trying to urge fall-like weather on because I am on a roll with soups and stews. This week I decided on some Beef Stew.
I added some mushrooms to the recipe and added a couple of cups of merlot to my belly.(I mean stew) I really liked this recipe. It was definitely not the stew I am used to, it was like rich people's stew. :) I also made some cheddar drop biscuits to sopp up the broth. In case you are wondering where the beef is, it is in the container of stew that I sent home with the sister. Sometimes I am in the mood for beef and sometimes I just want the flavor of it. I am not sure which soup recipe I am going with next weekend- suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Even with all this activity I was still able to visit blog land. Man oh man, enough inspiration to smack you silly. Here are just a few
